The Pear Tree Fund has received nearly £43,000 from its fantastic supporters which will be used to provide vital support to local people when they need it most.
Over the past few weeks, the charity has been given:
- A £3,000 grant from the Geoffrey Watling Charity. The money will be used for counselling and complementary therapies for families facing a life-changing diagnosis.
- A £40,000 share of the proceeds from the 2024 Heveningham Hall Country Fair and Heveningham Hall annual fireworks. We are extremely grateful to the Heveningham Hall Country Fair Trust for its continued generosity.
- Nearly £8,000 from Pop Chorus, who have spent the year fundraising and raised a massive £53,399 for some very special charities. Their grand finale culminated in the dazzling Constellation concert, where their incredible voices and energy wowed the audience.
- A grant of £2,480 from Annette Dunning, Suffolk County Councillor for the Halesworth Division. The grant will be used to deliver our healthy lifestyle programme for people with long-term conditions. The programme aims to support people and help them overcome challenges, create sustainable changes and explore the healthiest lifestyles possible within their own personal circumstances. Our heartfelt thanks to Annette and Suffolk County Council for providing the financial support to run this programme for the second time.
- £2,352 following performances of two emotional audio plays called ‘The S.H.I.T. Club (Supporting Husbands in Trauma)’ and ‘You’ll be Fine’. The pieces, by comedy writer and Pear Tree Fund patron Jan Etherington (pictured below with the cast), moved the audience to both tears and laughter while taking them on a journey through the eyes of a carer. Thanks also go to Townsend Electrical, which sponsored the event.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us so generously – your kindness really does make a difference.
