Prof Duncan Empey has resigned after a year as chair of the Pear Tree Fund due to ill health.
As chief medical officer at the London Hospital in Whitechapel and an expert in cystic fibrosis, Duncan (pictured below) brought a wealth of experience to the post and will be very difficult to replace.
Dinah Morley, who chaired the Pear Tree Fund previously, will stand in as interim chair while a replacement is appointed.
We know that Duncan will remain in touch with the fund and we thank him sincerely for his support. Our trustees and staff are very sad to see him go and wish him all the very best for the future.
