Our Team

The Pear Tree Centre is run by a dedicated team of three staff, who are supported by our fantastic volunteers. They are:

Seva Newrick

Seva has worked in the care sector in east Suffolk for the past 30 years, during which time she has developed extensive knowledge of the local area and strong working relationships with a variety of different charities and community organisations. She joins our charity from a local care agency based in the town.

“I have always been very passionate about the Pear Tree Fund. It’s a dream come true to have been appointed as manager of the centre and I feel very proud,” said Seva. “I’m looking forward to being able to make a difference and offering a warm welcome to everyone who visits the Pear Tree Centre.”

Accounts manager

Before joining the Pear Tree Fund, Claire spent 10 years as the town clerk and responsible financial officer for Beccles Town Council. Prior to this she worked at the district council where she progressed from a trainee role to a senior accountant position with responsibility for capital expenditure and treasury management.

Claire has also acted as the secretary and treasurer for two Corton charities over the past 13 years.

“I am delighted to be accounts manager for the Pear Tree Fund. I am in awe of the work of the charity and the support it offers to members of the community when they are most in need, and I very much look forward to contributing positively to its ongoing success.”

Anita joined our team from a local builder’s merchants, where she spent 24 years as branch administrator with a focus on delivering excellent customer services. She brings with her extensive local knowledge after living in the area for the past 30 years.

“I am so pleased to be part of the Pear Tree Fund and believe the centre is a much-needed asset which will bring huge benefits to the people of Halesworth and the surrounding areas,” said Anita. “I’m excited and proud to be part of this new venture.”

Deputy manager

Jackie has developed a sound knowledge of Halesworth and the surrounding area after working in healthcare locally for almost thirty five years. She is well-known after spending her career working as a clinical link nurse for the community hospitals and field care supervisor for Prestige, where she helped new carers to develop their skills and knowledge to help them provide the best possible care.

“I am thrilled to be working at the Pear Tree Centre and feel that the whole site encompasses a feeling of calm and sensitivity. I feel like I’ve come home after all the years I worked at the hospital and am so pleased to be part of such a worthwhile enterprise.”

Thora Taylor

Thora Taylor

Information and support officer

Thora joined our team after working as a police community support officer (PCSO) with Suffolk Constabulary for more than 12 years. She brings with her extensive experience of dealing with many kinds people and situations.

“I am so pleased to be part of the Pear Tree Fund team. The centre is a much-needed asset for Halesworth and the wider community. 

"It’s a warm and inviting space where people can feel supported when at their most vulnerable."
