Our team
The Pear Tree Fund is run by a dedicated team of staff, who are supported by our fantastic volunteers. They are:
Seva Newrick
Centre manager
Seva has worked in the care sector in east Suffolk for the past 30 years, during which time she has developed extensive knowledge of the local area and strong working relationships with a variety of different charities and community organisations. She joined our charity from a local care agency based in the town.
“I have always been very passionate about the Pear Tree Fund," said Seva. "It’s a dream come true to have been appointed as centre manager and I feel very proud.
“I’m looking forward to being able to make a difference and offering a warm welcome to everyone who visits the Pear Tree Centre.”
Michelle Cheesbrough
Wellbeing and support coordinator
Prior to joining the Pear Tree Fund, Michelle has built up 40 years experience in healthcare. She has worked as a registered nurse, is a holistic health practitioner, health coach and yoga teacher. Michelle continues to teach yoga and yoga therapy and has an interest in long-term health conditions.
“What attracted me to working at the centre was that it takes a holistic view of people's health and is a place where people can be supported and listened to,” said Michelle.
“I enjoy working as part of a team where skills are shared. The Pear Tree Fund provides a vital service that holds a special place in the heart of the community.”
Juliette Weaver
Community fundraiser
Juliette joined the Pear Tree Fund in 2024 as community fundraiser. She was previously fundraising officer for Animal Free Research, a charity based in Hertfordshire. Juliette has also volunteered as social media manager with Rebuilding Lives UK and organised a wide variety of fundraising events.
“I first heard of the Pear Tree Fund prior to the centre opening in 2020 and have since watched the charity grow from strength to strength,” said Juliette, who has more than 20 years experience in marketing. “The practical and emotional support provided by the Pear Tree Fund is the heartbeat of our community. I am honoured to be part of a dynamic and passionate team who are making a real difference to the lives of local people.”
Claire Boyne
Finance manager
Before joining the Pear Tree Fund, Claire spent 10 years as the town clerk and responsible financial officer for Beccles Town Council. Prior to this she worked at the district council where she progressed from a trainee role to a senior accountant position with responsibility for capital expenditure and treasury management.
Claire has also acted as the secretary and treasurer for two Corton charities over the past 13 years.
"I am in awe of the work of the charity and the support it offers to the community," said Claire. "I very much look forward to contributing to its ongoing success.”
Carol Shaw
Lead therapist
Carol is a MBACP accredited integrative psychotherapist with more than 27 years of clinical experience within the NHS and private practice.
"I work one day a week at the Pear Tree Centre, which is a tranquil setting where you can explore in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space any concerns, difficulties or blocks you maybe experiencing that cause long term effects on your private, personal, family or working life," said Carol.
"My therapy is individualised for every client, and combines proven effective counselling techniques to help you make better sense of the issues affecting your health and wellbeing.
"I work with individuals, couples and children to promote transformation and balance."
Anita Kirk
Admin assistant
Anita joined our team from a local builder’s merchants, where she spent 24 years as branch administrator with a focus on delivering excellent customer services.
She brings with her extensive local knowledge after living in the area for the past 30 years.
“I am so pleased to be part of the Pear Tree Fund and believe the centre is a much-needed asset which will bring huge benefits to the people of Halesworth and the surrounding areas,” said Anita.
“I’m excited and proud to be part of this new venture.”
Belinda Greenwood
Office administrator
Belinda brings 25 years of experience in care with her to the Pear Tree Fund. Through working and living locally she has watched the centre develop from when it first opened to the thriving hub it is today.
Belinda will be the first port of call for people looking for support. She will also help to coordinate our volunteer roles and the day-to-day running of the centre.
