Popular pub raises a terrific total for cherished local charity

The Pear Tree Fund

Staff and customers at The Queen’s Head at Bramfield have raised more than £20,000 for a much-loved charity which provides vital support to people with life-changing illnesses and their families.

Landlady Kate Wood chose the Pear Tree Fund as the pub’s charity of the year in 2019 and has continued to raise funds ever since, with the total now standing at an impressive £20,570.

The Queen’s Head has held a huge variety of activities to raise the money, including musical bingo evenings, race nights, food tastings, raffles and a fashion show. A dedicated staff member even ran the virtual London Marathon to raise funds during the COVID-19 pandemic, while Kate has twice converted the pub’s restaurant into a full-sized pop-up charity book shop.
