Dying Matters Awareness Week

The Pear Tree Fund

Dying Matters Awareness Week is held every year to encourage communities to come together and open up conversations around death, dying, bereavement and care.

This year’s awareness week runs from May 10 to 16. We are supporting the event by offering 200 hearts to local primary schools, Kinda forest school, Halesworth Volunteer Centre, individuals and some local businesses to open conversations and remember people who have died.

The hearts have been decorated in honour of a loved one, providing an opportunity to share memories and celebrate lives. They will be displayed in and around the town leading to the Pear Tree Centre, where a memory can then be hung in our beautiful garden.

We will also be holding a compassionate café at the centre on Monday 10 and Thursday 13 May where visitors are invited to enjoy tea, cake and a chat with the Pear Tree team.
