To protect our staff and public during the coronavirus pandemic, we have temporarily closed the Pear Tree Centre and Dee’s Den.
But although our doors may be shut, we are still here for you, your family and loved ones. We appreciate that this is an incredibly difficult time for all of us, but we are in it together and will get through it together.
During the coming weeks and months, we are continuing to offer support online and by telephone to people who need our help. We can signpost you for benefits or disability advice, to a dementia carer’s support worker or arrange counselling to help you manage your feelings.
Anyone who needs to access our information and support services should email peartreecentre@peartreefund.org
We’re proud that 11 of our dedicated volunteers are working with Halesworth Volunteer Centre (HVC) to support vulnerable people in the local community by picking up groceries and medication, or offering companionship over the phone or dog walking services. If you could benefit from this kind of help, please contact HVC on 01986 875600 or email covid@halesworthvc.co.uk
We feel that it is really important to keep as much of the support we offer available to local people during this time, so are continuing to offer community-based palliative care to people registered with Cutlers Hill Surgery through the Pear Tree Fund. To access this support, please contact the surgery direct.
As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, we have unfortunately had to cancel all of our planned fundraising events over the summer, which means the charity will suffer a considerable loss of income.
During this time we would welcome all donations to help us continue to deliver signposting services, counselling and benefits advice in the community, which will be even more vital than ever:
- A consultation with DANES, our disability advice service, costs £30
- An hour of counselling costs £50
- Benefits and form filling advice costs £30

Thank you for your understanding during what is a difficult time for all of us. We will reopen the centre and Dee’s Den as soon as the government advises that it is safe to do so.
Please keep safe and look after yourself and your loved ones during this unprecedented time.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support.
