The Pear Tree Centre

Our team

The Pear Tree Fund is run by a dedicated team of staff, who are supported by our fantastic volunteers. They are:

Seva small

Seva Newrick

Centre manager

Seva has worked in the care sector in east Suffolk for the past 30 years, during which time she has developed extensive knowledge of the local area and strong working relationships with a variety of different charities and community organisations. She joined our charity from a local care agency based in the town.

“I have always been very passionate about the Pear Tree Fund," said Seva. "It’s a dream come true to have been appointed as centre manager and I feel very proud.

“I’m looking forward to being able to make a difference and offering a warm welcome to everyone who visits the Pear Tree Centre.”

Hannah Aldridge

Hannah Aldridge

Fundraising officer

Hannah joined the Pear Tree Fund in 2025, bringing with her a wealth of marketing experience and a deeply personal understanding of the charity's mission. After her Dad sadly passed away from lung cancer in 2024, Hannah witnessed the invaluable support the Pear Tree Fund offers to families in the local community. This experience ignited her passion for ensuring that others receive similar support.

Hannah is looking forward to introducing innovative new ways to raise awareness and vital funds while implementing creative strategies that reach a wide audience to ensure that more people can benefit from the essential services the Pear Tree Fund provides.

"It's incredible to see how the centre caters for all ages and provides support for so many life-changing conditions – from offering a menopause group to countless other essential services," said Hannah. "I feel incredibly privileged to be part of such an amazing team, and I hope my work helps to fund the crucial support so many need when facing a life-changing illness or the loss of a loved one."

Claire Boyne

Claire Boyne

Finance manager

Before joining the Pear Tree Fund, Claire spent 10 years as the town clerk and responsible financial officer for Beccles Town Council. Prior to this she worked at the district council where she progressed from a trainee role to a senior accountant position with responsibility for capital expenditure and treasury management.

Claire has also acted as the secretary and treasurer for two Corton charities over the past 13 years.

"I am in awe of the work of the charity and the support it offers to the community," said Claire. "I very much look forward to contributing to its ongoing success.”

Dani Pearce

Administrative assistant

Dani joined the Pear Tree Fund in 2024, and brought with her a wealth of knowledge of the local community and support services in the area after working in child and family services previously.

Dani supports the day-to-day running of the Pear Tree Centre and is often the first point of contact for people who need support.

She said: "I first heard of the Pear Tree Fund when the community was raising money to build the centre and knew it would be  a special place which would offer valuable support to local people. The support that people can access at the centre is incredible and I’m happy to have joined such a lovely, welcoming, and passionate team."

Belinda Greenwood

Belinda Greenwood

Office administrator

Belinda brings 25 years of experience in care with her to the Pear Tree Fund. Through working and living locally she has watched the centre develop from when it first opened to the thriving hub it is today.

Belinda will be the first port of call for people looking for support. She will also help to coordinate our volunteer roles and the day-to-day running of the centre.

Anita Kirk

Anita Kirk

Admin assistant

Anita joined our team from a local builder’s merchants, where she spent 24 years as branch administrator with a focus on delivering excellent customer services.

She brings with her extensive local knowledge after living in the area for the past 30 years.

“I am so pleased to be part of the Pear Tree Fund and believe the centre is a much-needed asset which will bring huge benefits to the people of Halesworth and the surrounding areas,” said Anita.

“I’m excited and proud to be part of this new venture.”

AnneEmmerson3

Anne Emerson-Smith

Wellbeing support and volunteer coordinator

Anne joined the Pear Tree Fund in 2024, bringing with her a background in teaching and social work.

She spent most of her working life in Scotland, developing a range of charities and services in the play, childcare and voluntary sector. Anne also set up a training company providing higher education qualifications and a range of support to these services.

Anne moved back to Suffolk to semi-retire while looking after an elderly parent. Since returning to the county, she has also set up an early years provision at Beccles Forest School.

“I came across the Pear Tree Centre and experienced some wonderful support when my sister was diagnosed with cancer and needed end of life support,” said Anne. “I’m privileged to be able to give something back to this much needed provision in our community.”
