The Pear Tree Fund is appointing its first chief executive to provide creative and dynamic leadership to develop the charity’s services and ensure its future financial sustainability.
The Pear Tree Fund was established in 1989 to support people with a life-limiting illness who are registered with Cutlers Hill Surgery, through the provision of nursing care, practical support and equipment. The fund has recently opened The Pear Tree Centre, a purpose built drop-in centre, to provide information and support to people living in north east Suffolk and south Norfolk with a life-limiting illness, together with their families.
The charity employs an accounts manager and four part-time paid staff members and is supported by more than 50 volunteers who assist with the running of The Pear Tree Centre. The fund is entirely supported through grant-making trusts, voluntary donations and the proceeds from Dee’s Den charity shop in Halesworth, which is staffed by a team of volunteers.
